Cedric Benson has re-signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Benson spurns Texans, re-signs with Bengals — The Texans’ courtship of free agent running back Cedric Benson is over. He signed a two-year deal with Cincinnati.

Since day 1 the Texans have made questionable personnel moves that have made both fans and media scratch there heads in amazement.  Or in my case, bang my head against the wall wondering why I still own season tickets.  And when Gary Kubiak was given the head coaching job it seemed to me that he might be in over his head as a first time head coach and would continue the rediculous chain of personnel decisions.
The first decision Gary made once he was hired was picking up the final year team option on David Carr’s rookie contract. Really Kubiak????  And I must admit I was one of the many who thought it was a mistake to pick Mario Willams over Vince or Reggie in the 2006 NFL Draft but maye it was because at that moment in time our team needed an identity and someone to re-energize the fans.  Funny thing is, it seems that we drafted the right guy afterall and he has many of us fans and those so called “experts” look foolish.  That draft has shown that Kubiak and Rick Smith know what they are doing when drafting college players.  That draft alone has supplied the Texans with pro bowlers Mario Willams, DeMeco Ryans, Owen Daniels, and soon to be pro powler Eric Winston.
Now if they can get this free agent signing thing down we might soon be looking at a legitamate playoff run for the NFL’s 32nd franchise.  Jury is still out on the Dan Orlovsky signing but doesn’t this remind you of the Sage deal when it was announced?  A lot of people said Sage who????  Or they said oh god, Sage!!!???  Antonio Smith should help the d-line get pressure on the QB and lets hope for many future meetings of him and Mario at the QB!  As for Cedric Benson, you can have him Cinci…We have Slaton who burst on the scene last year and would already be a star if he would have been drafted by a New York team or any playoff team for that matter.  I think the Texans got lucky when Benson decided to re-sign with the Bengals.  He fits into that clubhouse better anyway as they are a team of thugs and jailbirds.  Give me a guy in the late rounds again this year who comes cheaper than Benson and is hungry to prove himself, and our offense should really take off!
And as we all know…COWBOYS SUCK!!!
